Women-Owned Businesses
Established and aspiring women-led businesses seeking to strengthen online presence, communicate with customers and reach new audiences.
Social Initiative · Historical Record
Expanding access to digital capability, entrepreneurship and opportunity for women.
The Initiative
Being Topper’s Women’s Entrepreneurship Campaign was created to support women vendors, entrepreneurs, business owners and students with access to digital marketing knowledge, mentorship, community support and practical exposure.
The initiative combined online learning with workshops, mentorship, community engagement and later offline initiatives to reach women who could benefit from digital capability in their businesses, professional lives and entrepreneurial journeys.
Capability and opportunity should not be limited by access to technology, location or existing networks.
Purpose
The digital economy was creating new opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs, but access to digital knowledge and practical guidance remained uneven.
Women running local businesses, aspiring entrepreneurs and students interested in digital careers could benefit from understanding how digital platforms, marketing and online communication could support their goals.
Being Topper therefore developed the Women’s Entrepreneurship Campaign around digital marketing capability, business visibility, access to new audiences, entrepreneurship awareness, mentorship, peer support, practical workshops and collaboration.
Participants
Established and aspiring women-led businesses seeking to strengthen online presence, communicate with customers and reach new audiences.
Women starting or operating businesses across technology, consulting, arts, wellness and other professional or commercial areas.
Female students interested in digital marketing, entrepreneurship or related professional opportunities.
Capability
The campaign used digital marketing as a practical capability area. Participants were introduced to digital marketing concepts intended to help them understand how businesses could operate and communicate online.
The initiative connected digital capability with practical economic participation, rather than treating digital marketing only as an academic subject.
Delivery
Collaboration
The campaign was designed around collaboration rather than a single organisation working in isolation.
Being Topper invited educational institutions, women’s organisations, community leaders, entrepreneurs, volunteers, campaign ambassadors and other collaborators to participate in expanding access and supporting women entrepreneurs.
Participation
The campaign involved students and volunteers who contributed time and expertise to support participating women entrepreneurs.
The historical campaign record describes participation by hundreds of students during the extended campaign period.
The recorded period of intensive activity ran from April 2020 through March 2022.
Historical Timeline
The historical record identifies 31 December 2019 as the campaign launch date.
When the COVID-19 lockdown period began, significant activity shifted toward online training and guidance. The campaign account describes continued support for women entrepreneurs from April 2020 through March 2022.
Expansion
The campaign later explored offline delivery to reach women entrepreneurs in communities where access to digital learning, infrastructure or professional networks could be more limited.
Recorded expansion included NGO collaboration, education tours, camps, urban and city-based activities, offline training and outreach into remote and tribal locations.
Support
Mentorship was an important part of the campaign model. Participants could connect with experienced women entrepreneurs and professionals for guidance, while networking activities created opportunities to share experiences and establish relationships.
Economic Participation
The campaign was built around a broader idea of women’s participation in the digital economy.
Digital capability could help women understand digital markets, communicate with customers, establish online presence, explore new audiences, understand digital marketing and explore entrepreneurship.
The initiative’s purpose was therefore not limited to teaching software or platforms. It was about access to capability and opportunity.
Business & Professional Support
Free online modules, live workshops, mentorship and community connection were brought together as a support environment for women business owners and professionals.
Students
The campaign included a women-in-digital-marketing scholarship-oriented component for aspiring female students.
Its historical model included female-student-focused digital marketing learning, expert-led instruction, professional exposure, peer community and entrepreneurship orientation.
Ambassadors
The initiative created an ambassador model for women leaders and social-media influencers interested in women’s entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.
Ambassadors were invited to raise awareness, create relevant content, participate in events, contribute to workshops and discussions, collaborate with Being Topper, amplify reach, participate in media opportunities and promote their own work and businesses.
Partnership
The original campaign invited educational institutions, women’s organisations and community leaders to participate.
Potential partnership value included contributing to women’s entrepreneurship, supporting digital capability access, expanding community reach, participating in training and guidance, connecting with entrepreneurs and supporting wider awareness of digital opportunity.

Documentary Layer
The campaign record is intended to be understood through its historical photographs, videos, event documentation and public reporting. Media on this page should function as documentary evidence rather than decorative imagery.
Where an image, video or event record is used, its original public source should remain identifiable so that the historical record can be independently understood.
Institutional History
The Women’s Entrepreneurship Campaign represents an important part of Being Topper’s institutional history.
It demonstrates an earlier expression of a principle that remains relevant: capability becomes more meaningful when access to it expands beyond the people who already have the strongest networks, resources and opportunities.
The technology and capability environment have changed, but the importance of access, practical learning, community and opportunity remains.
Institutional Evolution
The campaign emerged from Being Topper’s earlier digital capability work. Today, Being Topper operates with a broader institutional perspective around capability in a changing world.
That evolution does not diminish the historical campaign. It gives the campaign its proper place within the institution’s development.
Legacy
The initiative brought together women entrepreneurs, students, volunteers, mentors, educational institutions, NGOs, community leaders, industry professionals, campaign ambassadors and collaborators around women’s entrepreneurship and digital capability.
